FAQs

I love your work—How do I book?

If you're considering booking me to capture your wedding day, simply send an email to info@jrqmedia.co.uk, and I'll get back to you ASAP with some booking forms and to schedule a call to go through some things with you.

What is your style?

I have a relaxed, natural, and modern approach to wedding day photography. I aim to capture candid moments throughout the course of your wedding day, from the cheers to the happy tears! I feel these candid moments are what tell the story of your day best! I'll step in when needed to set up relaxed group photos, and I'll take you away as a couple for a few portrait sessions at various points of the day to capture some gorgeous shots of the two of you!

My editing style is modern and natural, and I apply my signature colour grade to all of my galleries to offer bright and vibrant photos for you to look back on for years to come. I stay away from major retouching, but I will remove certain eyesores such as fire extinguishers in key photos. I'll also remove certain blemishes such as spots, razor rash, etc., from key photos.

Do you take formal/group shots?

Yes! A key part of your day is the formal and group shots. I try not to spend too long on the group shots, as guests often have their minds focused on the bar! But I'll get the group shots you want, and we'll discuss this before your big day. I recommend the bride and groom take 30 minutes after the ceremony to have formal couple shots taken in and around the venue. I'll spend as long or as little as you like on these, as some want to get back to their guests, and others want as long as they can get to have some alone time and talk about what they've just done!

What are your payment options?

When you book, a 30% payment of your chosen package will be taken. Once this is received, your date is confirmed. I'll be in touch around 3 months before your big day to discuss any changes, go through what you want on the day, decide on any extra services, and arrange an in-person discussion should you want to. You'll also receive a final invoice for your day, which will need to be paid at least 30 days prior to your wedding. I accept BACS, PayPal, and cash for any payments.

What equipment do you use?

I use the Canon 5D MkIV and R6 for wedding photography, one of the most popular choices for wedding photographers for its reliability and fantastic quality! I carry backup equipment just in case something goes wrong, and I have tons of batteries and memory cards just in case I get a bit trigger-happy on your day! I also have a silent shoot mode on my cameras, so you'll barely know I'm there!

When will we see our photos?

I'll get a couple of images to you within a few days of your wedding to use on social media and any thank-you cards you may want to send out! Then I'll sit down, remove all the blinking shots, blurred shots, and anything else you won't want to see. A selection of the best will then be individually hand-edited. All in all, I aim to get your images to you within 8–12 weeks. Prints, albums, and other add-ons may take a little longer!

What happens once we've booked?

Well, that is all up to you! It would be great for you to stay in touch and send any ideas for photographs, updates for your big day, or even book in a pre-wedding day photoshoot to practice being in front of the camera! Other than that, I can be as involved as you like. I can even visit the venue with you should you want! Social media is a great platform to follow my work and steal any ideas from photos I've taken at other weddings!

Do you charge for travel?

If you're located in the West Midlands, then no, you will not be charged for travel! If you're based outside of the West Midlands, then I will charge £0.45 per mile after the first 20 miles of travel (there and back).

Do you need feeding?

In an ideal world, yes. It's often a long day on my feet, so a meal would be lovely, and most venues do offer a crew meal for staff, DJs, photographers, etc. I do not expect a three-course meal! However, if this is not possible, I'm happy to bring a packed lunch. Just let me know in advance.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have full insurance, including public liability, equipment, and legal. An insurance certificate can be presented should you or your venue require it.
