FAQs

I love your work- How do we book?

If you are thinking about booking us to capture your wedding day simply send an email to info@jrqmedia.co.uk and we will get back to you ASAP with some booking forms and to schedule a call to go through some things with you.

What is your style?

We have a relaxed, natural and modern approach to your wedding day photography. We aim to capture candid moments throughout the course of your wedding day, from the cheers to the happy tears! We feel these candid moments are what tells the story of your day best! We will step in when needed to set up relaxed group photos and we will take you away as a couple for a few portrait sessions at various points of the day to capture some gorgeous shots of the two of you! Our editing style is modern and natural and we apply our signature colour grade to all of our galleries to offer bright and vibrant photos for you to look back on for years to come. We stay away from major retouching but we will remove certain eyesores such as fire extinguishers in key photos. We will also remove certain blemishes such as spots, razor rash etc from key photos.

Do you take formal/ group shots?

Yes! A key part of your day is the formal and group shots. We try not to spend too long on the group shots as guests often have their mind focussed on the bar! But we will get the group shots you want and we will discuss this before your big day. We recommend the Bride and Groom take 30 minutes after the ceremony to have formal couple shots taken in and around the venue. We will spend as long or as little as you like on these as some want to get back to their guests and others want as long as they can get to have some alone time and talk about what they’ve just done!

What are your payment options?

When you book, a 30% payment of your chosen package will be taken. Once this is received, your date is confirmed. We will be in touch around 3 months before your big day to discuss any changes, go through what you want on the day, decide on any extra services and arrange an in person discussion should you want to. You will also receive a final invoice for your day which will need to be paid at-least 30 days prior to your wedding. We accept bacs, paypal and cash for any payments.

What equipment do you use?

We use the Canon 5D Mkiv and R6 for our wedding photography, one of the most popular choices for wedding photographers for its reliability and fantastic quality! We carry back-up equipment just incase something goes wrong and we have tonnes of batteries and memory cards just incase we get a bit trigger happy on your day! We also have a silent shoot mode on our cameras so you will barely know we are there!

When will we see our photos?

We will get a couple of images to you within a few days of your wedding to use on social media and any thank you cards you may want to send out! Then we will sit down, remove all the blinking shots, blurred shots and anything else you wont want to see. A selection of the best will then be individually hand edited, adjusting tone, contrast etc and applying a beautiful preset created for your day so they all match! All in all, we aim to get your images to you within 8-12 weeks. Prints, albums and other add-ons may take a little longer!

What happens once we have booked?

Well, that is all up to you! It would be great for you to stay in touch and send any ideas for photographs, updates for your big day or even book in a pre-wedding day photoshoot to practice being in front of the camera! Other than that, we can be as involved as you like. We can even visit the venue with you should you want! Social media is a great platform to follow our work and steal any ideas from photos we have taken at other weddings!

Do you charge for travel?

If you are located in the West Midlands then no, you will not be charged for travel! If you are based outside of the West Midlands then I will charge .45p per mile after the first 20 miles of travel (there and back).

Do you need feeding?

In an ideal world, yes. It is often a long day on your feet so a meal would be lovely, and most venues do offer a crew meal for staff, DJs, Photographers etc. We do not expect a three course meal! However, if this is not possible we are happy to bring a packed lunch. Just let us know in advance.

Are you insured?

Yes, we have full insurance. Including public liability, equipment and legal. An insurance certificate can be presented should you or your venue require.
